AUSTIN, Texas — Capital Metro is rolling out some “electrifying” new buses on the streets of Austin.
The first two of the electric fleet will be unveiled Wednesday, but will not be offering rides until next week.
CapMetro is planning on buying 80 electric buses total over the next five years.
Not only are they better for the environment, they're also much quieter than a traditional bus.
Another perk?
They'll feature artwork from students at AISD’s Lee Lewis Campbell Elementary School.
Each piece focuses on creating a cleaner planet.
