Greenlink is offering fare free rides on Election Day in Greenville County.
"We don't want the lack of transportation to be a barrier for somebody to get out and cast their vote," said James Keel, director of Greenlink.
Keel said fare free rides on Election Day isn't a traditional practice for Greenlink.
"Mostly because we want to be non-partisan," Keel said. "Most groups that want to sponsor fares for Election Day have some sort of partisan interest, but Proterra being a bus manufacturer and wanting to sponsor that for us, it was very easy for us to do."
Keel said the first bus will roll out at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning and the last one will go at 6:30 p.m.
"To be able to come forward and say we're not going to be that barrier and be fare free is monumental for us here in Greenville," said Keel.
