HOW THE CITY IS HELPING TO GET PEOPLE OUT TO THE POLLS, NOLAN. NOLAN: MICHAEL AND CAROL, THE GREENVILLE BUSES ARE CURRENTLY PARKED. Greenlink is offering fare free rides on Election Day in Greenville County. "We don't want the lack of transportation to be a barrier for somebody to get out and cast their vote," said James Keel, director of Greenlink.Keel said fare free rides on Election Day isn't a traditional practice for Greenlink."Mostly because we want to be non-partisan," Keel said. "Most groups that want to sponsor fares for Election Day have some sort of partisan interest, but Proterra being a bus manufacturer and wanting to sponsor that for us, it was very easy for us to do."Keel said the first bus will roll out at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning and the last one will go at 6:30 p.m."To be able to come forward and say we're not going to be that barrier and be fare free is monumental for us here in Greenville," said Keel.
