PROTERRA CUSTOMER SERVICE RECOGNIZED BY MASS TRANSIT TOP 40 UNDER 40 LIST

Fort Atkinson, Wis. – September 6, 2016 – Mass Transit has named Mike Finnern, director, customer service, Proterra, Inc. to its Top 40 Under 40 list, honoring those professionals who have made significant contributions to the public transit industry.  Finnern was cited for his efforts to ensure customers across the U.S. make a seamless transition to Proterra’s zero-emission, battery-electric transit vehicles.

“Through stellar customer service support, Mike fulfills the Proterra mission every day of advancing electric vehicle technology to deliver the world’s best-performing transit vehicles,” said Gary Horvat, chief technology officer, Proterra, Inc.  “Under his leadership, his team ensures transit agencies can successfully embrace Proterra products into their fleets, while eliminating fossil fuel dependency and reducing costs,” Horvat said.

Top 40 Under 40 Honorees were nominated by their peers and judged on criteria that included job commitment, industry involvement and contribution, achievement in his or her position and innovation in his or her field.

Demonstrating marketplace momentum for zero-emission transit, Proterra continues to solidify its status as the premier North American provider of clean, quiet, emission-free mass transit vehicles with 312 zero-emission buses sold to 35 different municipal, university and commercial customers across the country,

“As more and more transit operators opt for zero-emission, battery-electric transit over traditional fossil fuel buses, integration of these new vehicles into an existing fleet requires a deep understanding of operational needs for our customers and their riders,” said Horvat. “Mike and his team partner with agency management, operators and technicians on a daily basis to ensure Proterra buses continually provide top operational and ridership experiences, and keep their buses rolling.”

“Millions of people utilize public transportation every year, relying on it to transport them to work, school, social and sporting activities,” says Publisher Emily Guill. “The individuals chosen for this year’s list have been stand outs in their respective areas and show a strong passion and commitment that exemplifies the best of the best.”

Winners will be showcased in the September/October cover feature of Mass Transit magazine and online at www.MassTransitmag.com.
